"Einige deutsche Wörter sind so lang, dass sie eine Perspektive haben."

Yesterday, after a short break, I started German classes again. I had German back in school (together with French, brrr), but that was all a long time ago. When I was in Germany a few years ago, I was quite surprised at how bad, or rather how rusty, my command of the German language had become. So, in other words; back to school, time for some refresher courses. Wir sind helden and Rammstein in the cd-player. And browsing through the filmladder to find out where and when “das Leben der Anderen” will be playing. At times though, I can only find myself agreeing with Mark Twain, when he wrote his chapter on die schreckliche deutsche Sprache in a Tramp Abroad.
