Camera Absentis

Yesterday, I was driving back to Amsterdam. As we got on the ring round the city, we noticed a black mercedes coming on the highway. The car drew our attention immediately, something was just odd about it. Then we saw it... there were little metallic grey blops/ circles all over the car - the thing was riddled with bullet holes! Like one of these scenes from a movie, it seemed like the car received "the treatment" from some serious automated weapons. Looking at the drivers, we didn't get the feeling that this was some sort of prop though.

And then there was kodak moment number 2, and again no camera, bah! A bit later on same that day, I was walking through the streets of Amsterdam. It was in on old part of the city and I was approaching a curve, a corner rather, in the street. I was walking on the pedestrian side of the street, cars were parked next to it, and I couldn't see past the curve. It was quiet also, nobody around. As I turned the corner, just barely, there.. right in front of me, was a huge Grey Heron. Just standing there on the other side of corner, minding its own business, next to a parked car, in the middle of Amsterdam! Damn bird wouldn't budge though, didn't move at all (yes, it was real).
