The journey to Damascus has been an interesting one. And I was going to write all sorts of interesting things about seeing Palmyra, one of the nicest Roman ruins I've ever seen -located in the middle of the desert- with a beautiful sunset. Just imagine seeing an entire Roman city in front of you in the valley, with a slight fog, and a setting sun turning the city red. I was also thinking about describing some of the amazing meals that were consumed during the trip. Or about seeing the tomb of Saladin in Damascus.... or about all the holy sites - Mt Nebo, the place of the baptism, etc etc - but I'm not going to.

Because today I visited the Dead Sea (I'm in Amman right now) ...and I'm totally excited: it was amazing! I've been thinking about visiting this place ever since I read about it. In the beginning you won't feel that much, thinking is this it, but when it becomes a bit deeper you will start to feel yourself being pushed upwards. It is just so strange, it feels like you're floating on the water when you lay on the water. Or even more fun, when you stand upright, staying afloat, not feeling the bottom. After some experimenting, I could move myself forward by making walking movements underwater...
