Praha

I unexpectedly ended up going to Prague last sunday. I like Prague, I like Prague a lot. Prague is one of the few cities where you can find architecture, building styles from several centuries all cramped into one city. The only downside of Prague is that it has been becoming a bit too touristy lately. I met up with a friend of mine on sunday, just after I arrived in the city and just before she had to fly out. In the evening a visit was made to one of my favourite bars/ restaurants in the city: Prague's version of La Bodeguita del Medio - they serve some killer mojitos there and have excellent seafood.

I was in Prague for work, but still had some time available at the end of the day to look around the city and shoot some photos. I also took advantage of me being in Prague by visiting Foto Skoda, a bit of a photography Valhalla - imagine a multi-level store that sells about every camera available, accessories for each of them - analogue, digital, as well as a nice collection of antique cameras - plus a section in the store available for editting and printing film. Some shopping was done there.

One of the nicest places in Prague is - in my opinion - the inside of the St. Vitus Cathedral. It, like most gothic cathedrals, has some lovely stained glasswork. What makes these a little special though, is that some of them have been designed by Alfons Mucha, one of the Czech Republic's great artists. Of course, I took some photos (see picture above). These and other photos of Prague can be found here.
