A trip to Zeeland

The last day of the long Easter weekend I spent visiting Zeeland, a province in the South-Western part of the Netherlands. Things to see there are the storm surge barriers and other constructions aimed at the protection of the coastline, the deltawerken, built after a major flood in the 1950s as well as all the older towns & villages that are scattered across the province. Most, like Middelburg, have their historic centre still intact and too many churches to be good for them. Zeeland is a good place for some water sports, to see what Holland was like before all the green for was traded in for housing, and basically to get away from it all and enjoy the sea.
