India

I've been reading up a bit on India lately. I will be visiting the Northwestern part of the country as a part of my trip and really wanted to get a better feel of the transport/ surroundings/ etc. I'm quite looking forward to seeing the place.

You do come across the weirdest things in travelguides and online touristguides though. I found this one in some guide describing Bikaner, a city near the the Thar desert. "Bikaner is worldly renowned for rats". Uhm, well, yes, how interesting. Thank you for sharing this. They were referring to the practice of animal worship in one of the more famous temples near the city. Another little gem: "When arriving by train you will pass the station of Pokharan, India's nuclear testing area!" Oh Joy!

I'm trying to make my plans so that I will be in Agra during a full moon, don't know whether it's possible to visit the Taj in the evening or at night, but just think of the photo opps...
