Don't know if this will get published, but here goes... For some strange reason I can get into blogger to edit a post, and create an entry, but I can't actually see my blog. Strange, no? I'm in Shanghai now, arrived here from Hong Kong via a 21 hour train ride, pfff.
Yesterday, I visited a Chinese tea ceremony, which was lots of fun. I didn't know that there would be rules -well, guidelines- on how to hold your teacup and such. It was interesting, got to taste nine different Chinese tea variants, and learnt a lot in the process.
The whole thing got me thinking on eating etiquette, the funniest I must have seen during my whole trip was a group of Chinese trying to figure eat how to eat with knife and fork. My chopstick action must be pretty hilarious to them as well. The thing that's problametic isn't learning how to hold them or how to physically use them. Rather, it's knowing when and how you are "supposed" to use them.
